The School Journey and the Right Road to Take

School is back and your daily life changes once more. Education Connection Advisors is excited about this year. We see changes in the school landscapes, new teachers and administrators, new buildings and plans and improved curriculums. Our hope is for continued stability and stronger schools.

Educational consultants are important in today’s world more than ever. Their perspective and knowledge in regards to schools is important. Our team continues to learn about each school in the Atlanta area to better advise our families. Here are some questions to ask yourself before hiring a consultant like us:

  • Do you want a public school or a private school? Do you know the differences between them?
  • Do you know what to look for in a school? What are the current themes and important things to know?
  • What if my child is ‘neuro diverse?’ How would that affect school choice?
  • Where do I want to live and how do I know if there is a good school near me?
  • How does my child learn and what is the importance of a ‘milestone test’? What educational testing is important?
  • What are the opportunities, activities and issues that I should be aware of in looking at different schools?
  • What should my expectations of a school be? What should I do?

We are a team of educational professionals that listen to you and help you figure out the various paths and ultimately plan with you on which road should be taken. We care about each family and strive to help you understand the complexity of today’s choices in schools.

We are excited to announce our fall events! They are both free and open to anyone in the community so please share with friends. More information to follow.

 “Life After Preschool”

We are hosting this event with Trinity Presbyterian Preschool and it is open to any families with preschool age children. This event is not just for families applying to private schools. Psychologist, Dr. Fontina Rashid will also join us to discuss child development, as well as the JATP.

Recently a current client brought up the notion of ‘blind spots ‘ in education. This point struck a chord with us and we began to think about where the “blind spots” may be. Here are some questions to think about?

Are our schools forgetting to teach some basics which some of us had growing up, such as grammar, spelling, multiplication tables?

Have our educational systems moved totally away from books and rely on technology for textbooks?

How can we instill the love of reading when learning material is on a computer and not in a book?

How do we build better mental health in our families when our children are out everyday after school doing activities until late afternoon with very little downtime?

Are we traveling the world and forgetting that we have much to see and do in our own communities?

Are we avoiding the blind spots and not tackling some of these issues head on?

Our goal is to get you on the right path for your family. Just like finding the right way to school to avoid traffic, we are the ones to help you navigate the school process without the anxiety and stress. Let’s plan ahead together. We are ready to help.

We care,

Barbara, Betsy, Fontaine and Margo
